Blanchard Machinery IT Manager in West Columbia, South Carolina
The IT Manager oversees the day to day activities of the organization’s technology, software, and programming needs, and implements and enforces IT standards, policies and/or procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission, and values of BMC.
Manages information technology networks and computer systems.
Ensures security of data, network access and backup systems. Develops, implements, and maintains security policies, protocols, and procedures.
Works closely with the CIO, Business Systems Managers, and operational managers to develop and manage the information systems strategic initiatives such that they support the critical short and long-term business goals of Blanchard Machinery.
Responsible for IT business continuity / disaster recovery plans. Controls budgets for security operations and monitor expenses.
Manages the development and acquisition of new technologies and tools to improve the effectiveness of the organization’s internal operations as it relates to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Works with the IT and operational teams engaged in the design, implementation, and modification of IT projects and ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meet technical requirements.
Participates as a member of the management team involved in planning and setting strategy, projects, policies, and systems that impact the business as a whole.
Oversees the management of the Installation, configuration, and deployment of new hardware, software upgrades and maintenance, and ensure the completion of other IT-related projects.
Works with IT staff and operations to facilitate appropriate training methods to ensure employees are fully versed on company systems and controls.
Manages the activities of the Information Technology group including nurturing their professional development and growth, providing guidance on technical matters, and promoting teamwork and cooperation.
Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
Monitor business system performance through the use of metrics and statistical process control methods.
Manages budgeted and actual expenses and capital expenditures related to information services.
Manage the procurement of all software, hardware, and other IT supplies.
Negotiates and contracts with consultants, technical personnel and vendors for services and products.
Stay current with IT trends and remain highly technically competent.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
5 Years of related progressive experience in IT Operations, 2 years of supervisory experience.
Proven working experience as an IT Manager or relevant experience
Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
Expertise in data center management and data governance
Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; use reason and facts when dissecting issues.

The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily inside throughout the year.
Business travel as assigned.
Position requires employee to work on-site at designated location.
