Staff Accountant / Billing Specialist

job summary:

Randstad Professionals is actively assisting a long time client with its search for a Staff Accountant / Billing Specialist in Sumter, SC. Our client is a well established and profitable organization with a strong track record of employee development and retention.   • Assist with preparing and submitting billing accurately and in a timely manner

  • Issue monthly rent invoices

  • Work with Sales Team to ensure sales orders are logged

  • Maintain and prepare monthly revenue reconciliations

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end close cycles

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and document business transactions

  • Resolve outstanding customer balances, review aging, and make timely calls/emails with customers with delinquent balances

  • Provide various monthly management reports and schedules, e.g. AR Aging, Training Summaries

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts

  • Maintain and update department process documentation

  • Provide audit support as needed, ensure that files are compliant with all company policies and procedures


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ideal candidates are team players, self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work quickly and concisely while under pressure

  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to successfully deal with employee and customer questions to resolve issues

  • Excellent time management skills; ability to meet critical deadlines

  • High level of accuracy, efficiency and accountability

  • Ability to work with complex issues and reconciliations

  • Takes ownership of assigned responsibilities

  • Actively seek out process efficiencies and improvements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

  • High knowledge of GAAP principles
