Keurig Dr Pepper Sensory Quality Analyst I in Spartanburg, South Carolina
The Spartanburg operation is a state-of-the-art coffee roasting and pod packaging facility in addition to hosting a full beverage distribution center. Spartanburg is the largest KDRP manufacturing and distribution location. The site will operate on the foundational principles of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance); leverage the principles of Lean manufacturing and harness the power of High Performance Teams. All associates at the Spartanburg site will have accountability to both a functional business unit in addition to the full site operation.
As a Sensory Quality Analyst, you will coordinate all sensory tastings and make sensory related decisions on product quality, while ensuring products conform to sensory and food safety standards. You will regularly interact and communicate with Business Units within the site and stay up-to-date on all corporate sensory standards, approved test methodologies, and site sensory metrics. You will often be asked to provide support for development and auditing of quality testing procedures and be looked upon to help drive improvement in site quality metrics. During the site startup process you may be asked to travel internationally and domestically to support equipment qualifications, standard operating procedure development and employee training.
Conduct sensory quality evaluations and report results
Train sensory panels on all shifts
Be the subject matter expert on sensory skills and Q Grading proficiency and knowledge
Work with Quality to assess returns and customer complaints
Work with R&D and sales on sensory requests
Maintain accurate records of all sensory events
Perform sensory evaluations for new products and partner coffee qualifications
Team with operations to validate process changes that could influence product sensory.
Perform analytical testing as necessary to evaluate product and processes
Maintain the QA laboratory operation, including instrument calibration and maintenance
Maintain accurate records of all testing and calibration activities.
Back up the Quality Technicians as needed to evaluate product quality on the plant floor
1-3 years in a manufacturing or quality role with Food Industry experience desired
Exceptional sensory skills and ability to differentiate and describe a wide array of aroma and flavor attributes.
Q-grader certification preferred or be willing to obtain
Ability to work effectively in team environments as demonstrated through effective written and verbal communication and active participation in cross functional discussions
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail while managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to constantly lift, bend, stretch and stand during entire shift.
