American Credit Acceptance Loss Mitigation Specialist-Bankruptcy in Spartanburg, South Carolina
The Loss Migitation Specialist assigned to the Bankruptcy team is responsible for a group of high level risk bankrupt accounts and the application of bankruptcy code requirements to those accounts.

May be responsible for high level account analysis based on bankruptcy code and general collection law requirement
May assign accounts for repossession and/or other outside action based on pre-determined parameters.
May negotiate with attorneys and/or debtors where permissible
May work directly with court personnel
May work directly with attorneys
May file appropriate documents/forms directly with court
May work or represent department on special projects
May perform financial analysis on individual bankruptcy cases
May be responsible for identifying bankruptcy trends
May be responsible for analysis of portfolio relative to bankruptcy assets
Make decisions about acceptance/return of partial payments
Use skip trace when needed to find additional customer contact information
Handles most complex collections inquiries and issues
Follow Bankrupt accounts through the Bankruptcy cycle
Other duties as assigned
Excellent problem solver, with ability to prioritize
High School diploma or GED; or at least 1 year1 of collections experience required
Adept at navigating various computer applications
Proven ability to multi-task
Strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven track record of successful collections
Advanced knowledge of company products, services, policies, procedures, collections systems, and how to apply this knowledge
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a Full-Time position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Occasional weekends may be required.
No travel is expected for this position.
