Contec Inc. Associate Facility Engineer in Spartanburg, South Carolina
The primary purpose of the Associate Facility Engineer is to provide technical engineering support for the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of facility systems and manufacturing processes.
Monitors facilities via BMS/SCADA data to ensure all plant systems are operating efficiently and safely (compressed air, gas heat, electrical distribution, HVAC, etc.).
Completes projects to make equipment and facility improvements for reduced costs and/or improved quality as directed by the facilities engineer.
Assists in the design/development and implementation of new manufacturing facilities, equipment, and processes.
Coordinates project work with outside contractors and equipment suppliers, as well as internal facilities, maintenance, and operations teams.
Provides technical assistance to production when requested for difficult equipment troubleshooting.
Assists other functional areas, Distribution, Manufacturing, Sales, Quality, Marketing, Development, IT etc. as needed with technical expertise.
Ensures all facility systems meet the requirements of national and local codes (i.e. OSHA, NFPA, NEC, DHEC, etc.)
Participates and works within ISO 900 quality standards guidelines in accordance with Contec’s quality goals.
Generates and updates the Facilities Maintenance preventative maintenance schedule and work tasks in IFS ERP system based on measured equipment performance and technician efficiency.
Functional/technical knowledge of the maintenance, repair, development, and procurement of the following building systems:
Boiler and steam system operation and maintenance
Chilled water systems
Fire control/sprinkler systems
Electrical distributions, Arc flash, etc.
Action orientated to troubleshoot, determine root cause, and provide solutions for process issues.
Planning and project management of capital assets.
Process Management of the facilities maintenance and repair work orders system. (Currently through IFS)
Total Work System (ISO, TPM) compliance to follow and direct others to follow site protocols, policies and procedures for safety and maintenance.
Ability to use software to communicate and analyze data to determine causal effects as well as failure modes: AutoCAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SCADA interfaces, IFS 9 and 10
Ability to work in a team environment.
Performs duties with the highest regard for safety and quality.
Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies, and procedures.

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical or other engineering field from four-year college or university; and a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training.
