Position Description:

S4 Inc. is looking for qualified individuals to serve as the local Senior LAN/WAN Engineer to provide technical support in the design, installation, configuration, and monitoring of classified and unclassified networks, including SIPRNET, NIPRNET, CENTCOM Partner Networks, and the Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIXS) and up to three additional networks (e.g. CPN-X, BICES) within USARCENT buildings. The LAN/WAN Engineer shall configure equipment that includes routers and switches, web proxies, firewalls, IDS, and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS); Access Control Server (ACS), and Network Access Control (NAC) servers, as well as provide IO&M of approved encrypted Virtual Private Network (VPN) solutions for long haul secure transport and user access-controlled access to the unclassified network. This is in support of the U.S. Army Central as it conducts shaping operations in the United States Central Command Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Technical support in the connection of dedicated point- to-point data circuits while complying with network security policies and security system configurations including the DISA STIG, bulletins, advisories, RCC-SWA directives, and IA policies

  • Install, and maintain network Local Area Network (LAN) cables limited to the server rooms and communications closets

  • Update and maintain the USARCENT whitelist entries in the Army Registry of Networks and Layer-3 Devices (ARNLD)s

  • Maintain port security and log port security devices on a designated logging server

  • Configure, fill, and maintain the encryption devices used to provide secured communications

  • Manage a Cisco Jabber Collaboration Tool to allow instant messaging, room-base chat capabilities, and the ability to share documents, PowerPoint slides, photos and spreadsheets on the designated USARCENT network

  • Support the management of up to three additional networks (e.g. CPN-X, BICES)

  • Provide VoIP and VoSIP technical support for USARCENT change management, engineering, design and configuration technologies

Required Skills:

  • Ability to create/interrupt Network diagrams

  • VoIP and VoSIP technical experience

  • Information Assurance (IA) Compliance experience

  • Knowledge of building/installing copper/fiber cables and their connectors

  • Knowledge of military Networks, especially Army, a plus

  • Knowledge of port protocols and assigning port permissions

  • Experience setting up accounts for and maintaining coalition networks

Required Qualifications:

  • A 4-year college degree in an IT related field. An amount of experience can be substituted for education requirements

  • Three years of experience in System Administration
