Plan, organizes, implements, and evaluates Employee Health services; coordinates the medical monitoring program and other infection and respiratory control activities for designated staff. Coordinates and assures implementation of the agency's Exposure Control and Infection Plans.
Assesses the quality of employee health services. Provides leadership, direction, and monitoring of CQI activities; evaluates the employee population for trends/risk factors; develops innovative strategies to improve quality of services.
Assures employees access and supports the development of activities, policies, and interventions that improve their health status. Engages community partners to assure quality and coordination of services in support of health and wellness of employees.
Participate in Nurse Consultant meetings and with the Office of Nursing in disaster preparedness during hazardous weather or declaration of an emergency as outlined in DHEC Emergency Plans, to include staffing of triage.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Some positions require certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the American Nurses Association (ANA). In addition, some positions require Basic Life Support Certification. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and related nursing experience.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Agency Additional Requirements: Current license as a Registered Nurse by State Board of Nursing for South Carolina or compact state. Bachelor of Science in Nursing; MN, MSN or MPH and three (3) years experience as a Registered Nurse; two (2) years of which must have been in supervision/management/consultation and two (2) years in public health nursing.
Current driver's license or ability to obtain transportation in order to fulfill job duties; may be required to use personal vehicle. CPR certification. Ability to stoop, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds. Complies with all Federal, State, and Agency rules, regulations, and policies.
