We're looking for an enthusiastic Human Services Coordinator I who is responsible for the direct supervision of a team of TANF Family Success Coaches (Case Managers).

The Human Services Coordinator I ensures subordinate Family Success Coaches adhere to established, written policies and procedures, and performs case reviews to ensure compliance with program expectations. Supervises, coaches, and mentors Family Success Coaches.

Routinely travels among assigned areas to conduct unannounced visits with subordinate Family Success Coaches. Coordinates the needs of Family Success Coaches with other managers related to training, necessary materials or equipment, and information.

Understands and exercises data security and confidentiality in the transfer, disclosure, and management of all client and employee personal information.

Performs Red Cross Shelter duty or other emergency welfare services duties as directed.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in social work, social welfare or behavioral science and one (1) year of professional experience in Human Services or Social Service programs.

A Bachelor’s Degree in any other field and two (2) years of professional experience in Human Services or Social Service programs.

A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Social Welfare or Behavioral Science.

A Master’s Degree in any other field and one (1) year of professional experience in Human Services or Social Service programs.

Selected positions may prefer supervisory experience.

Considerable knowledge of principles and techniques of Social Services at DSS, specifically TANF case management practices are preferred. Knowledge of services available from the community, other public, and private programs is preferred. Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws or regulations pertaining to TANF is preferred. Must have the ability to organize and maintain organization of his/her assigned employee's caseloads. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are required.

Must have a valid license and access to a motor vehicle. Must have a high tolerance for noise, irate clients, and sometimes crowded working conditions. Must be able to travel within the state for the purposes of training, meetings, and meeting with clients. Occasional overnight travel will be required.
