Job Responsibilities

*THIS IS A 20-HOUR TEMPORARY POSTIONTHE HOURS OF AVAILABILITY ARE 11AM TO 3PM, MONDAY-FRIDAY. HOURLY SALARY IS $12.25 PER HOUR.*

This position is located in the Contact Center, Headquarters, Blythewood, S.C.

The Administrative Specialist II/Customer Service Specialist (CSS) is responsible for customer service delivery to internal and external customers in the headquarters' office. The Administrative Specialist II/Customer Service Specialist reports directly to the Customer Service Supervisor or Unit Manager. The Customer Service Specialist typically performs routine or standard transactions and has acquired the skill to handle the highest level task in the Contact Center.

Job Functions: 1. Daily requirement is to answer complex and detailed inquires concerning DMV laws, Policies and procedures by telephone.

2.Employee applies skills when answering complex and detailed inquires concerning DMV laws, Policies and procedures as it relates to Financial Responsibility services through various modes of communications, such as telephone, email, or written correspondence.

  1. Employee applies skills when answering complex and detailed inquires concerning DMV laws, Policies and procedures as it relates to Driver or Vehicle services through various modes of communications, such as telephone, email, or written correspondence.

  2. Employee meets and maintains the desired performance levels through adherence to the job requirements set forth in the Quality Assurance Monitoring Sessions for volume of calls handled.

  3. Employee meets and maintains the desired performance levels through adherence to the job requirements set forth in the Quality Assurance Monitoring Sessions for ability to work independently.

  4. Determines whether research is needed on a transaction and performs transactions as necessary in accordance to system procedures.

  5. Retains and gains knowledge through reading and interpreting changes to policies and newly implemented processes.

  6. Employee is responsible for maintaining and operating the equipment at their workstation.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma plus two (2) years job experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and related experience.

Ability to learn and explain policy and procedures to DMV customers. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Proficient in basic computer skills. Must have technical ability to properly operate multi-line phone set with headset.

Works under general supervision after a period of training. Works in a general office environment. May be required to work extended hours outside of the normal scheduled work week. Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs. The work requires sitting for long periods of time and significant time spent at a computer terminal.
