SC Department of Public Safety Accountant/Fiscal Analyst II in Richland County, South Carolina

Job Responsibilities

Reviews and processes invoices for payment for Facilities’ Operating Units. This includes the tracking of payments to ensure that they are processed timely and correctly. Also, this will include verification of all expenses recorded in FAMIS to ensure correct tracking of project based expenses.

Assists with the recording and reconciliation of expenses posted in PeopleSoft to FAMIS to assist with project closeouts. Makes corrections in FAMIS to record any missing transactions and/or prepares any necessary journal entries to make corrections in PeopleSoft to complete the reconciliation process.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 2 years professional accounting experience, or equivalent education and experience. Or an Associate’s degree in accounting with 12 semester hours of accounting coursework and 4 years of experience or the equivalent.

Exhibit the ability to interpret and analyze financial data, records and reports. Exhibit the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer prior experience with PeopleSoft and/or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Additional Comments

Knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping principles and practices. Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations. Ability to perform analysis of financial records.

Salary: $36,926.00 - $47,734.00 Annually
