Samsung Electronics America EHS Specialist in Newberry, South Carolina
The EHS Specialist is responsible for working with facility management to effectively direct, implement, monitor, and manage key environment, health and safety issues inside and outside of the manufacturing facility. Areas of focus will be on compliance management, environmental health, and safety planning and monitoring.
Role and Responsibilities

Assist with writing, implementing, and managing EHS Programs, Policies and Procedures
Responsible for compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments
Maintain relevant EHS logs and
Conduct, coordinate and track various training in compliance with company policy
Manage/maintain Safety equipment, safe working practices; Develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
Willing to cooperate with other employees and achieve cultural change to prevent potential resistance
Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, customers and regulatory
Comply with all NOV Company and EHS procedures
Maintain and implementation of safety programs, compliance plans,
Strong understanding on Root Cause Analysis
Check safety issues on the shop floor regularly base to ensure compliance with regulatory G
Good knowledge on all its legislative obligations (i.e. OSHA, EPA, AQMD, ADA, ) and company EHS policies and procedures.
Administrate and maintain compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, EAP, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, BBP,
Evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE
Responsible for Storm Water Discharge sampling and documentation
Make investigation into all on site incidents and property damage under the direction of the EHS Manager. Follow-up should be done to minimize future exposure
Support emergency situation and first aid
Comply with Fall Protection Program - inspecting and maintaining all fall protection equipment and inspection
Other responsibilities as assigned by management; job duties may change at any time with or without notice
Skills and Qualifications
Academic background on Health & Safety Sciences or minimum 2 years of work experiences in Environmental, Health and Safety area; Technical writing skill is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Independent, detail-oriented and organizational attitude
Strong capability in analytical/ problem solving and written/verbal communications
Working experiences with local regulatory agencies preferred
Good knowledge on emission control devices and related compliance.
