Hyatt Tennis Teaching Professional in ISLE OF PALMS, South Carolina
SUMMARY: The Tennis Teaching Professional will possess exceptional customer service and a strong work ethic on and off the tennis court. This position will be responsible for on-court instruction, assisting with pro shop operations, and helping administer tennis court and facility maintenance. The Wild Dunes Tennis Operation pride ourselves in running one of the top tennis resorts in the world which makes this position unique because teaching professionals will also aid in coordinating any special request, handling tennis groups, and following up on inquiries left by guests. He or she is responsible for maintaining up to date and accurate information about the tennis center or any other current activities here at Wild Dunes Resort.
The Tennis Teaching Professional shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!
Essential job FUNCTIONS:
Teach lessons and clinics to resort guests and members
Have lesson book open for lessons as requested by the Tennis director and Head Professional
Assist in all club functions (tournaments, tennis socials, etc.)
Conduct round robins as needed
Participate in weekend coverage as assigned
Perform required court and facility maintenance duties
Perform required pro shop duties
Perform any other reasonable related duties as requested
Exhibit professional behavior at all times
Maintain professional appearance and work uniform
Answering the phone enthusiastically and with professional etiquette.
Colleague is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.
eXPERIENCE & eDUCATION:
Must have knowledge of tennis and enthusiasm for the game of tennis
At least one year Tennis instruction experience in a similar setting preferred but not necessary as long as the individual has a strong playing background.
The individual should have good communication skills and be energetic while performing teaching requirements.
Experience in resort tennis is preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
At least one year previous experience in a similar setting preferred
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Must be CPR certified
Must have a strong passion for assisting guests in attaining their fitness and wellness goals
Must be able to work well under pressure
Must have strong knowledge of fitness industry
Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
Must be highly detailed orientated
Must have excellent computer skills
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
Must have excellent listening skills
Must possesses excellent communication skills
Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
Must always ensure a teamwork environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and Colleagues
Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests

Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the day, with intermittent periods of stair climbing
Must be able to lift & carry up to 10 lbs on an occasional, repetitive basis
Must be able to twist, bend, kneel and squat frequently; crawl occasionally
Must be able to perform repetitive hand & arm movements and simple grasping constantly; pushing & pulling, squeezing and overhead reaching frequently
