Protect the Bank’s collateral and minimize risk exposure by providing support for the timely payment of all escrowed insurance bills. Act as first line of defense to maintain compliance with all regulatory, investor and bank-imposed requirements as they relate to Mortgage Servicing Operations. Ensure processes are adequately tested and documented. Act as liaison for third-party providers related to Mortgage Servicing Operations. Participate on scheduled calls/meetings with all applicable parties, internal and external, to accomplish corporate or departmental objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Meet daily/weekly goals for completing work in the required timeframe. 2. Complete required computer-based training prior to assigned due date. 3. Process research requests/tasks for internal and external clients by the expected completion date. 4. Receive and process system checks and refund checks within a 48 hour turnaround time. Respond to manual check requests from third-party vendor. 5. Research any termination of coverage notices related to job function. Ensure no unintentional lapses in coverage occur. 6. Process weekly open items via Passport, research all escrowed cancellations; ensure no lapses of coverage occur. Research and process all incoming faxes same day as received. 7. Provide support as needed to facilitate completion of special projects such as loan servicing transfers. 8. Respond to written and verbal client complaints within required Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regulatory timeframes. 9. Maintain knowledge of and compliance with all applicable investor and/or regulatory requirements as they relate to specific job duties. 10. Compile support documentation and respond to audit requests from investors, regulatory agencies, or internal quality review and Compliance areas. 11. Update or assist with updating departmental procedures to adapt to changes in processes related to job responsibilities. 12. Participate in and document all mortgage system profile testing for updates/enhancements to servicing system and report issues to management. 13. Ensure that Lender Placed Insurance (LPI) processes and flood notification process are completed timely and in accordance with regulation. 14. Receive and respond to all borrower-initiated Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) deletion review requests. 15. Process all billings for PMI companies within respective due date and resolve exceptions. 16. Process all billings for all applicable Federal Housing Administration (FHA)/Rural Housing Service (RHS) loans prior to the 10th of each month. 17. Review and resolve daily Mortgage Servicing Platform (MSP) billing exception reports to ensure billings are produced in compliance with CFPB requirements. 18. Complete month-end Optional Insurance Remittance to all insurance companies and balance optional insurance general ledger. 19. Process and complete monthly flood new loan boarding files; complete annual flood audit with Corelogic Flood; order and cancel flood certificates with Corelogic Flood and update MSP. Two years of mortgage servicing experience 3. Ability to grasp concepts quickly and make sound decisions 4. Ability to work independently and seek and use guidance appropriately 5. Strong analytical skills 6. Working knowledge of all Insurance Administration procedures and policies 7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 8. Ability to organize and prioritize work 9. Ability to relate well to others and work comfortably in a team environment 10. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products 11. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight Desired Skills: 1. Bachelor’s degree 2.
