General Electric Director, Blade Program Deployment, Sierra B2P in Greenville, South Carolina

Role Summary:As Director, Sierra B2P Blade Deployment, you will be responsible for achieving the business, product, program and QEHS targets for Sierra B2P blade deployment. You will work closely with the key execution workstreams across various functions at LM engineering - ONW and provide guidance and leadership to ensure delivery towards commitments.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Meeting the ONW line of balance demand for Sierra B2P blades, incl. transfer of NPI, enabling NTI & qualification of third party manufacturing plant, output and line of balance planning

  • Meeting blade COM targets, including plant vs. BOMs, minimizing freight and scrap, DM costs (hours/blade and cycle time) and cost of pin-joint

  • Minimizing impact of pin-joint availability on Sierra B2P ramp-up, including transfer & rollout of pin-joint in third party manufacturing plants, speedy issue resolution, equipment availability and readiness, cycle time delivery and (re)design for manufacturability

  • Roll-out of LM – B2P blade, including ensuring fastest ramp and maximum impact on cost

  • Program governance, including risk management, Steerco alignment, issue management, meeting certification requirements and reducing warranty requirements

  • Provide leadership towards project team and plants; inspiring and motivating the teams towards program execution, whilst role-modelling an inclusive and collaborative cross-functional partnership with all relevant LM/ONW functions

  • Ensure project compliance to LM and ONW policies and procedures, including Safety, Compliance, Integrity and cost awareness

  • Ensure visibility of the program, achieving its bowler target to achieve throughout LM, ONW, and GE Renewables


  • Bachelor's Degree in field relevant to development or manufacturing of wind turbine blades

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in execution of development programs and projects in a manufacturing context

Desired Characteristics:

  • Extensive knowledge of wind turbine blade manufacturing & operations

  • Strong and inclusive communicator, able to remain focused on delivery and execution

  • Strong business acumen combined with international experience and cultural awareness covering Americas, Europe, India and China

  • Strong English language skill (verbal and writing)

  • Project management skills and proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work through ambiguity to deliver results

  • Demonstrated leadership to successfully motivate and drive accountability for diverse teams through involvement, safety and collaboration in a global organization
