Honeywell Textile Engineer (Respiratory) in Fort Mill, South Carolina

Develop and design chemical manufacturing processes. You will apply the principles of chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics to solve problems that involve the production or use of chemicals, fuel, drugs, food, and many other products. You will use your advanced knowledge to help run experiments and tests to aid in the development of improved manufacturing procedures and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Healthcare related filtration technology

  • Understanding of the impact of knitting process, braiding, weaving, welding process, and other external factors on the durability of final product performance

  • Partnering with team members and cross-functional stakeholders to identify, develop and utilize textile characterization and aging capabilities

  • Failure Mode analysis and Testing


  • MS/Bachelors in material/textile engineering

  • Minimum 2 years Non-woven and melt-blown background

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial textiles or healthcare industry


  • Healthcare product development experience

  • Working knowledge of the mechanical behavior of textiles (fiber/polymer/yarn/fabrics)

  • Experience linking textile properties, structure, processing and finished goods performance (i.e. abrasion, tear, strength, stiffness, toughness, wettability, adhesion, etc.)

  • Knowledge of textile/flexible composite testing and characterization

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and in different time zones

  • Min 1-year related experience in Disposable masks like N95, Surgical, Dust Masks

  • Oral and written communication skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving ability

  • The ability to work as part of a team
