WSP is currently initiating a search for a Supervising Water Engineer for our Columbia, SC office. This person will be supporting our municipal clients. Position primary focus will be managing municipal infrastructure projects and teams, business development activities to nurture existing clients and develop new clients and sub consultants. Complete complex contract negotiations with clients and sub consultants. Candidate will be focused on municipal water distribution and wastewater collection system projects including pump stations, storm water drainage projects plus have the ability to support transportation projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Project/Program management, business development (seller-doer), staff development for municipal water/wastewater/storm water projects
Capable of developing and leading complex project teams and subconsultants
Take full responsibility for ensuring financial success of projects as well as client satisfaction.
Conduct complex staff development and mentoring of staff to energize all levels of WSP organization

10 or more years’ experience in managing municipal infrastructure conveyance projects and teams in North Carolina
Registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina required, a bonus if also have North Carolina, and Georgia
Affiliations with professional societies and active industry and community involvement
Authorization to immediately work in the United States
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
