The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions.
The Cybersecurity Network Defense and Security Analyst is responsible for developing solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope following detailed instructions to analyze network intrusion detection systems and conduct vulnerability assessments.
Supports the development of technical reports, meeting minutes, program plans, concepts of operations, contingency plans, and related documentation as identified for task deliverables.
Assists in the preparation and disseminatation of operational reports including, but is not limited to, AF Computer Emergency Response Team (AFCERT) daily operations report, operation report (OPREP), and situational report (SITREP), incident response, law enforcement reports, and recovery operations reports, Information Protection Bulletins (IP Bulletins), AFCERT Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNOs), malicious logic/virus notifications, Information Operations Condition (INFOCONs), and other messages. Supports real-time monitoring of assigned Intrusion Dection System (IDS) / Intrusion
Dection System (IDS) deployed and monitors network traffic to provide event correlations of operational traffic from multiple locations to determine network security posture.
Utilizes tools to evaluate traffic for incident response analysis and to execute Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) notices.
Performs network event correlation and traffic analysis, incident response and analysis, vulnerability analysis, IPS/IDS Sensor Maintenance, IPS/IDS Database and Virtual Private Network (VPN) technical support, standardization and evaluation, and operational process tracking and processing.
Supports network defense systems and exercise planning.
Prepares technical report of the results of Network Defense operations, including IDS/IPS analysis, requirement reports, tool deficiency reports,and lessons-learned reports. Provides general IT management support, general networking, Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) enterprise, CONUS and OCONUS deployment andTDY travel, functional training, technical and general O&M, documentation and reports, and meetings/briefings to support Air Force Central Command (AFCENT) Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) operations.
B.S. in related field, and 5 or more years’ relevant IT experience; OR 7 or more years’ relevant IT experience.
CISSP and CEH
MCP (Server), Network+ CE, and ITIL Foundation
TS with SCI Eligibility
