Job Summary: The Department of Healthcare Leadership and Management in the College of Health Professions is in search of an individual with a Master’s degree in health economics, health services research, or other relevant mixed methods or program evaluation area in a health care setting. This individual should demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team on health services studies. Have an interest in being part of a research team focused on assessing the effects of tele-health on access to care, clinical outcomes, quality of life and cost of care for aging, under-served minorities, or chronically ill patients. This individual will support the data collection and perform statistical programming on archival and registry data for health services research projects for grants in the Department of Healthcare Leadership & Management.

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 6: $40,759.00 - $58,086.00 - $75,413.00 (min - mid - max)

Job Duties:

  • 35% - Perform data cleaning and validation and construct analytical data sets using observational and survey data from funded studies and perform statistical analyses using SAS, and other statistical programs. Interprets and summarizes the results from their analysis and provides their findings to the PI. - (Essential)

  • 25% - Perform data collection and analysis using interviews, key informant interviews and perform qualitative analysis, perform reviews of the health services literature and draft reports in collaboration with senior study investigators. - (Essential)

  • 20% - Assist study faculty with data collection, data set construction, executing data analyses and reporting results of studies using program tracking data. - (Essential)

  • 10% - Collaborate with senior faculty on economic studies to examine cost effectiveness, cost utility and return on investment, including the study design, data collection, data analysis, decision model programming and drafting of reports and manuscripts. - (Essential)

  • 5% - Performs other analytic and academic tasks as assigned. - (Essential)

  • 5% - Complies with all MUSC policies and procedures and Federal, State and Food and Drug Administration regulations. - (Essential)

Preferred Experience & Additional Skills: A Master’s degree in health economics, health services research, or other relevant mixed methods or program evaluation area in a health care setting. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team on health services studies. Interest in being part of a research team focused on assessing the effects of tele-health on access to care, clinical outcomes, quality of life and cost of care for aging, under-served minorities, or chronically ill patients. Content knowledge/interest in pharmaco-economics, cost and outcomes research in rural health during the COVID-19 epidemic is desirable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree with statistical courses and three years experience in statistics.
