Beaufort Memorial, Beaufort, SC, a not-for-profit hospital founded in 1944 on the banks of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, is licensed for 197 beds (169 acute, 14 rehabilitation and 14 mental health).   • Position Summary

  • The Respiratory Care Practitioner assists in the treatment and management of neonatal, pediatric and adult patient populations. Therapists follow hospital and departmental policies, procedures and therapist driven protocols to safely and effectively deliver care as ordered by the patient's physician. Participate in diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care to include: ventilation and airway management, PFTs, bronch assists, code team response, electrocardiograms, chest physiotherapy, patient education and ABG acquisition/analysis. Therapists should possess strong critical thinking and effective communication skills. As a member of this patient care team, the therapist will have the opportunity to work in all care areas, evaluate patient progress in response to interventions, therapy and assist with discharge planning as needed. Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of degree program for Respiratory Care

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care hospital preferred. New grads considered.

  • SC RCP license required; Certification through NBRC required. BLS required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association). NRP within 6 months of hire; ACLS preferred.
