Naval Medical Command HEALTH & WELLNESS SPECIALIST in Beaufort, South Carolina

Summary

You will serve as a Health and Wellness Specialist in the Directorate for Patient Services, Primary Care Services Department, Health Promotions/Wellness Division of NMRTC BEAUFORT SC. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Responsibilities

You will plan, organize and direct the activities of the Health Promotions/Wellness Division and Fitness Center.

You will maintain an updated awareness of all factors affecting good health.

You will coordinate a variety of health testing and screening procedures.

You will maintain files on individual?s participation in health promotion programs.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess a Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree with a major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences, or allied sciences appropriate to the work of this position from an educational program and an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time my degree was obtained. (Please provide copy of transcripts. Failure to possess this factor WILL result in an ineligible rating.) In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing and managing a health promotion program using health education, nutrition and exercise science. Utilizing health promotions theories, activities and programs that provide requirements and recommendations. Consulting concerning health and wellness topics. Developing training and marketing techniques for the development of programs for all ages. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicant has 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, if related graduate level education that is directly related to the position being filled. If you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you must submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume.
