This is a management position that involves managing and directing major aspects of S&K’s Business Development and Sales efforts by providing market and US federal agency services market planning, organization, marketing and sales execution specifically for the U. S. Department of Energy to meet the strategic goals of the company. The primary initial market sector for support will be DOE’s Environmental Management Program, but will encompass additional Programs such as National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Office of Science, other DOE Program Secretarial Office Programs and other agencies including Nuclear Regulatory Commission, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Homeland Security, and other state and federal agencies. Commercial opportunities in the Environmental and Nuclear markets may be pursued as well.

  • Planning of sales strategies and execution of actions to fulfill service business development plan within the area of assigned responsibility. The primary target market is direct technical support of DOE at their field Operations Offices, with the goal of expanding to their broader Environmental Management market and other Program Secretarial Offices. Support for other services may include commercial environmental and nuclear services, Border Protection Solutions, Tower/Antenna Services, IT, Engineering, Construction, and other services. Ensure ethics in proposal framing from a traditional and customer service perspective.

  • Manage both direct awards to tribally-owned entities and competitive awards. Introduce new tools and practices that focus on how to engineer customer demand for our products and services.

  • Work closely with operational leaders and managers to ensure strategic objectives and business strategies are met.

  • Manage the investigation and qualification of new business opportunities in the DOE market that might fit within the identified business plans of S&K; identify and profile prospective clients, develop “insight content” to strategize each meeting opportunity, follow up and track each lead through the selling process.

  • Work with other S&K companies, or outside companies to form Teaming Agreements or Joint Ventures for the purposes of increasing the likelihood of a successful bid. Contribute to proposal technical volume formulation by drawing on experience in DOE and with engineering, construction, security technologies, training, IT, technical support and other services programs. Track and monitor all capture/proposal milestones and deliverables.

  • Assist principals in evaluating business development opportunities including cost benefit analysis, breakeven analysis, customer meetings and other duties identified. Prepare and submit Monthly Reports/Updates on the status of existing opportunities and proposal efforts within the assigned area of responsibility. Conduct gate reviews and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements

  • Present company capabilities at customer agency sites, conferences, meetings, and events. Perform other duties as assigned and accepted.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field. Master's degree in Business Management or Business Administration desirable.

Experience: Bachelors plus Ten (10) years of Marketing, Procurement, and/or Operations management experience with a minimum of Five (5) years of specific Federal and/or State Marketing/Sales experience.

License/Certification/Registration: Current driver’s license; Current TS/SCI security clearance or ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance.

Special knowledge, skills & abilities: Thorough knowledge of and work experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulation. Must demonstrate ethics, responsibility, confidentiality, professionalism, leadership, punctuality and consistent dependability, organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities.
